William Hill crowned “Bookmaker of the Year”

William Hill and shop manager Jane Noble were the stars of the show last night at the prestigious Betview 2010 Awards, the betting industry’s own “Oscar’s” event.

We landed three of the top awards, including the flagship title of “Bookmaker of the Year”. Jane Noble from Darlington was acclaimed “Betting Shop Manager of the Year” in front of 500 industry people at a glittering dinner at London’s Hilton Park Lane hotel. William Hill was also named “Betting chain of the year”.

“These awards are an important industry accolade,” says Ralph Topping, Chief Executive, and are justly deserved recognition of the commitment shown every day by every one of our 16,000 employees. We’ve faced tough times in the last year but, by putting the customer at the heart of everything we do, we’re raising the bar for industry excellence.

There were 13 titles awarded last night at the second Betview awards event. In 2009, William Hill won two accolades - “Betting Shop Manager of the Year” for Bambos Charalambous and “Most Creative Marketing Campaign’’ for the banter booth.
